Basic Products
Basic products represent the foundational outputs. These include standard displays such as PPI and vertical cross-sections, CAPPI and PseudoCAPPI. By providing two- and three-dimensional views of the atmosphere, basic products allow users to examine the spatial structure of precipitation, storm organization, and vertical profiles of reflectivity or motion.
Radar reflectivity and polarimetric variables, used in the computation of most advanced meteorological products, can also be displayed in vertical cross-sections.
CAPPI or constant altitude plan position indicator is a display of radar data which gives horizontal cross section of data at specified altitude. Pseudo CAPPI attempts to visualize the part of radar data that is not directly measured by using data from the lowest elevation at greater distances from the radar.
