At Meteopress, we build technology with real-world impact. We’re looking for people who take ownership, enjoy solving practical challenges, and want to be part of a team that builds things that matter.

As a Meteorologist, you’ll work at the core of our radar meteorology expertise. You’ll analyze radar data and nowcasting products, track significant weather situations, and issue forecasts and warnings for hazardous weather phenomena. You’ll also get hands-on with our mobile weather radars — from processing their data to going out into the field to operate them yourself.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze radar data, radar-derived meteorological products, and nowcasting methods
  • Analyze significant weather situations based on radar data and meteorological products
  • Forecast hazardous weather phenomena and issue meteorological warnings
  • Process and analyze data from mobile weather radars
  • Take part in field deployments with mobile weather radars and carry out measurements
  • Design, develop, and verify meteorological radar products
  • Collaborate with other teams — SW and HW development, system administrators
  • Communicate with customers and prepare materials for radar training sessions
  • Prepare materials for marketing demonstrations and conferences

What we’re looking for

  • Solid background in meteorology and climatology, with a focus on severe convective storms, the convective environments they develop in, and radar meteorology in particular
  • Active interest in the field, willingness to keep learning, and openness to new things
  • University education — at least started at Master’s level
  • Active knowledge of Czech and English, both written and spoken
  • Team player with a strong team spirit
  • Knowledge of Python programming is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Linux is an advantage
  • Category B driving license is an advantage

What you’ll get

  • Flexible working hours, with the option to work from home once settled in
  • Room for professional growth and further education
  • Participation in international conferences, with the chance to discuss ideas with leading experts in radar meteorology
  • Work buddy — mentoring from a more experienced colleague
  • Free lunches and drinks at the office
  • Small team of meteorologists, direct communication, no unnecessary bureaucracy
  • On-site gym
